The Barmitzvah Brothers are a four piece band from Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
Playing bars, playing basements, playing just about any creative space thats
welcome in 2006 in support of the new record.
Since their formation in April of 2000, they have released four albums, toured
Europe, appeared on at least five television shows, had their pictures taken
with airplanes, and driven their van through treacherous weather. They have
played countless Canadian shows, appearing with bands such as The Arcade Fire,
the Rheostatics, MGMT, Great Lake Swimmers and Final Fantasy.
The current members are Geordie Gordon, Johnny Merritt, Jenny Mitchell, & Tristan
O'Malley. Combining fiddle, banjo, trumpet, and omnichord,
with wurlitzer, keyboard, electric guitar and bass, the brothers create a
unique musical sound that blends folk, country, pop, rock, and maybe even klezmer.
The Barmitzvah Brothers' newest release, "Growing Branches" was released September 2011, and celebrates the birth of Jenny's little daughter Arrow.
