S.PAM

S.PAM started off as a project which goal is to provide their public with a stripped off lyrics music atmosphere.

Although they had known each other for quite a long time, Sylvain (bass) and Manu (drums) lost contact in 2000 but reunited in 2002 to form a duet and came up with musical pieces focused on rhythm. Their eclecticism (from Mike Patton to Portobello Bones or the Young Gods for Manu, Fugazi to Marc Ribot for Sylvain) makes their work rich and unique. They developed their proper musical universe based on realism. They kept working in the same direction until 2003 when Julien (guitar) joined them to complete the actual line-up of the band. The band’s name may sound quite confusing at first but it actually symbolises the emotional impact produced by the richness of their music, both in structure and content, with relevance. Julien, who is very influenced by the Melvins brings a melodic touch to the hypnotic atmosphere created by Sylvain and Manu.

From the beginning, S.PAM have deliberately made the decision to compose instrumental pieces so as to emphasize the communicative aspect of their music. While some people seek to interpret silence, those who listen to S.PAM are invited to interpret sound…

S.PAM’s world, though cold and austere to some extent, seduces because of the emotions it generates. Their sophisticated melodies paradoxically complete a raw basis, giving it more sensitivity.

Since 2004, they’ve been touring both in France and in Europe (Slovakia, Hungary), playing more than 50 shows and sharing the stage with such bands as Enablers, Made Out Of Babies, Don Vito, Ephel Duath, DÄLEK . In parallel they worked on an eponymous album released in 2005 and have since begun working on new songs. ALBUM AVAILABLE HERE :
