The Attic began in a basement, now live in Chicago, and are American and always have been. They are The Attic, a rock band playing music that blends heavy melodies with funk, blues and improvisation. All of this is true and is where the band stands now at the turn of the next decade.



Five years ago, the quartet emerged from the womb at the University of Rhode Island, where the original cast of the band met through the school's underground music/party scene. After beginning as a band playing house parties and functions, they began playing proper venues in and around the area earning them the right to call themselves something.they chose, The Attic.



The following years saw the band performing throughout greater New England and into the New York tri-state area at theaters and clubs behind their debut LP, In The Red (2007). The album received positive praise from their local faithful and earned them credit from fans and publications alike. As the group continued to forge forward, recording a second release in the form of an EP titled "Where's The Payoff?" in 2009, they found a new direction both musically and geographically, toward the city of Chicago. The Attic's quest to push their own creative boundaries and forge new frontiers is co-existent with their desire to experience new locations and expand. In pursuit of music, the group is approaching new heights. Today, the music has begun taking on a heavier edge, characterized by riff driven soundtracks with a pulsing backbeat, all the while, incorporating the musical landscape laid from the very beginning, finding The Attic their most rewarding efforts to date.
