The Assassin has been featured on countless mixtape's lately from the UK , US and France and Australia . He is looking forward to finish touch's to his new album after enjoying success of performing with Chamillionaire and working with some of the biggest dj's in the game such as Tim Westwood , DJ Smallz and alot more . The Assassin was recently featured on DJ Smallz Southern Smoke College Tour CD and is looking forward to work alot more with the Number 1 dj in the south DJ Smallz a.ka. Mr. Southern Smoke .

The Assassin a.k.a. Maurice Coveney has been rapping since the age of 12 but has been singing since as long back as he can remember . He released an underground 6 track cassette e.p. called Lyrical Assassination in 1998 which completly sold out and is to this day being requested to be re released . The e.p. got to Number 1 on Cork Music Channel's Music Box a local cable channel at the time and it got to Number 6 on the Comet Record's chart . In Feb 2004 The Assassin released his debut single Universal Boogie which featured r&B/reggea singer Anthony Cambpell . Look out for The Assassin's new mixtape coming soon titled Sasseme Street which is hosted by Tim Westwood who is the host of MTV's Pimp My Ride U.K. and B.B.C. The Assassin also recently released his latest single called Vibe which feature's Cork singer Catriona Hughe's and is a cool mixture of hip hop and r&b . He is working on his debut album with top qaulity production from top Irish producer Mike Donnelly and Top U.S. producer J - One and is working with U.S. r&b singer David Lawerence also on the album . The album should set new standard's for hip hop and r&b music in Ireland some people are saying . The Assassin is the c.e.o. of his own independent label Off The Hook Record's and he has plan's on building a fanbase for the label and it's sound . Even at the early stage's of the progress of running the label he already completed a music video for his forthcoming single Vibe . In 1996 Maurice ( The Assassin ) published a hip hop and r&b magazine called Off The Hook Magazine and became what some called a cult following as the mag sold out as soon as it was put on the shelf almost . The magazine published 7 issue's and lot's of loyal fan's really miss the publication and hope to it return .
