Steven Gribbin performs under the name of theapplesofenergy. The live shows are always improvised in response to his surroundings and may contain tape recordings, mandolins, glockenspiels and guitars (both electric and acoustic). theapples’ capacity to create atmospheric pieces with very minimal sound components influenced the way in which he and Mark Anthony Burgoyne (founder of the independent record company from a stolen sea) work together. They are both increasingly drawn to improvised music and this was also the premise on which they recorded theapples' debut album. The album entitled “mirror/echo” is due to be released soon.
