I have been the singer, rhythm guitarist & principle songwriter in UK based band The Wonder Stuff since 1986. The band continue to write, record & play live to this day but I also find time to indulge myself in solo pursuits, sometimes accompanied by other members of The Wonder Stuff sometimes not. This MySpace page is pretty much dedicated to that area of my life. Please take a look at myspace.com/the_wonder_stuff for information soley about the band. The Wonder Stuff took an extended break between the years of 1994 to 2000 during which I spent an eighteen month period as the presenter for MTV Europe's '120 Minutes' alternative music show. I was soon to be drawn back to the intoxicating environs of a band when I formed the mighty, but short lived, Vent 414 in 1996 with Pete Howard (EAT & more recently Queen Adreena) and Morgan Nicholls (Senseless Things, The Streets & more recently Muse). In 1998 I began performing acoustic shows with Malc Treece (The Wonder Stuff) as well as shows in North America with Phil Hurley (Gigolo Aunts) and then eventually on my own.In what has now become the last ten years I've made a handful of solo records including "Miles Across America" (acoustic album, Gig Records), "Hairy On The Inside" (album, Gig Records), "By The Time I Got To Jersey" (live acoustic album, Gig Records), "Life's Great EP" (Gig Records), and "Five Songs EP" (Gig Records). In 2001 I signed to Eagle Records & made "The Miles Hunt Club" album with Andres Karu (Love In Reverse, The Amazing Meet Project & more recently The Wonder Stuff) and Michael Ferentino (Love In Reverse, The Amazing Meet Project & more recently Transfusion M). That band toured with Stuart Quinnel (Understand & The Wonder Stuff) on bass a number of times during the early 2000's before I decided to commit more time to The Wonder Stuff. In 2004 we released the first Wonder Stuff album in eleven years, "Escape From Rubbish Island" (IRL) and followed it up in 2006 with "Suspended By Stars" (IRL). The band has been steadily touring both the UK & North America for the last three years & I have to say it is the happiest & most creative period I have experienced as a member of the band.2006 also saw The Wonder Stuff providing songs for the BBC children's t.v. show, 'Underground Ernie', which I had written with the show's creator, Sid Rainey, a couple of years beforehand. I'm not entirely sure, at this point, what will happen in the future with this project, but it has been said before that all I have ever done is write childish ditties, it just seemed that in this particular instance I had found the correct home for them. I'd certainly welcome the chance to do more of this kind of writing. My last output of 2006 was a live solo album, "Interloper" (IRL), which was recorded at a couple of late summer gigs in the UK and features Wonder Stuff favourites as well as songs from my solo releases, including three brand new songs. In 2007, The Wonder Stuff took some time off as I was concentrating on writing & recording the "Not An Exit" (IRL) album with Wonder Stuff violinist, Erica Nockalls, and drummer, Andres Karu. Erica & I toured the UK extensively throughout 2007 in support of "Not An Exit" which had an official release date in the UK of April 30th & in the US of June 26th, released on Fake Chapter Records.2008 saw myself & Erica touring constantly to promote our "Not An Exit" album (IRL). I think we played more shows in '08 than in any previous years & part of that touring took us the the US on a co-headline tour with Wayne Hussey of The Mission. There are still some video diaries from that tour here on my profile for those of you that wanna know more about the trials & tribulations of touring. The Wonder Stuff played two shows in October 2008 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of our debut album, "The Eight Legged Grove Machine". They went so well that we're doing a few more ELGM shows in May of 2009 (UK only). And to assist the current line up of The Wonder Stuff to get their heads around the old songs we took the opportunity to re-record "The Eight Legged Groove Machine", including extra b-side tracks, as a limited edition anniversary version of the album, available from IRL.Erica & I get 2009 off to a rockin' start with a special show at Birmingham's Town Hall on Friday 30th of January. We were invited to play the newly refurbished venue in the Summer of 2008 & thought we should make something of an event out of the opportunity. So we have given the evening the name 'Shared' & invited some of our favourite players to join us in an evening of acoustic performance. The bill features Wayne Hussey (The Mission), Roddy Frame (Aztec Camera), Nick Heyward (Haircut 100) & Katell Keineg. We hope that this first 'Shared' event will be the first of many such occasions where we can put together a varied bill of stripped back performances.March 2009 sees the release of another Miles & Erica album, recorded throughout 2008, titled "Catching More Than We Miss" (IRL). Most artists will often claim that their latest effort is their best and hand on heart, I can tell you that that is exactly how I feel about our new album. As a performing & writing duo I don't think Erica & I have ever sounded as good as we do on this new album. We are joined once again by The Wonder Stuff's drummer, Andres Karu and producer, Pat Collier, for this record.

Summer 2009 saw the first release of what I intend to be a series of albums that followed a similar feel to the 'Shared' gig in January of the same year. 'Shared' the album, featured three songs, performed acoustically, by six different artists. I produced the whole album & Erica Nockalls added some wonderful string arrangements to a few of the artists songs. Wayne Hussey, Dirty Ray, Rob Dunsford, Timothy Parkes & Matthew Derrick all put in superb performances and the project was a pleasure to have been a part of. I shall be working on a follow up album, with a different cast of contributors throughout the summer of 2010 for release at the end of the year. Take a look at; http://www.myspace.com/sharedevent to keep up to date with future 'Shared' projects.

The first part of 2010 has seen me producing Dirty Ray's second solo album. In a former life Ray was better known as Kevin Weatherill of the Immaculate Fools. We have almost finished work on a 10 song album at the time of writing this (March 2010) and I gotta say, working on such a collection of songs has been one of the greatest musical pursuits I have ever had the pleasure of taking part in. I'll blog here when the album is released.

In addition to my acoustic and production work I will of course be reuniting with my band, The Wonder Stuff, in 2010, this time in celebration of the 21st Anniversary of the release of our second album, 'HUP'. We have completely re-recorded the album & it is set for release around our tour in April this year.

Keep your eyes on the 'Upcoming Shows' section of my profile to stay up to date with both mine & Erica's, as well as The Wonder Stuff's gigging activities in 2010.Miles Hunt. March 2010.
