Tha Scholars were founded in 1999. Stephen Lee started building his Break N Bread Music Group a multi-media entertainment company that not only specializes in record distribution, but also Video production and Graphic Design. Stephen Lee and Daylan Jones were born in Baltimore, Maryland. Where they began there musical career in the mid 1990s,Stephen also going by the name S.L rhymed in local ciphers ,crushing in rap battles , with the support of his friends in 12 trees. Meeting his close friend Brandon's brother Daylan whom had what Stephen's previous rap groups didn't have. He pocessed that love for the raw hiphop. Tha Scholars was formed and Daylan began going by the name Cata, S.L was sick but Cata was murdering track too , He made ill hooks plus they could vibe , back in tha day booking chick's (lol) lighting that good and crushing open mic at the old 5 seasons on North charles street , plus Distributing a serious of mix cds to keep money in there pocket. However, Baltimores early DJ'S and Radio promoters broke promises, Beats were to high and locals didn't support there dream , well. most of em ,we had our circle of MCS



Stephen ,always networked in the streets learning the business. One example is connecting with overseas producers in Finland and France .We started that in Baltimore ,Cata went to Morgan State getting a degree in video production and learned how to make incredible beats.

Plus he real live on the music video tip Cata helped originize 1 vision Ent with his fellow college niggas .With Stephen's networking and Catas eye for visual arts ,not to mention the duos creative rhyme style as one

became a double-edge sword. They recently won 88.9 fm WEAA's "Test Bin" for the 3rd time. They were the first to win repeatly and now their cd can be purchased on www.cdbaby.com.
