The formation of Tha Light started in Oklahoma. Lando and Ennis are the two founding members of the explosive hip hop duo. Both born and raised in Oklahoma. Lando is from the Northeast Side of Oklahoma City. Ennis is from Hennessy, Ok respectively. They met at Edmond Santa Fe high school in the 10th grade. Where Ennis was a star basketball player and Lando had already been in pursuit of his music career for some years by that time, preforming at local talent shows, school events and local clubs.

After graduating high school (both of them)in 1996 ,Lando was the first to move to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended The Art Institute Of Atlanta and studied graphic design. Ennis maintained in tha O attending Rose State College. Ennis arrived in Atlanta the following year in 1997. Where they officially form the group we know as Tha Light. While recording music in Atlanta Ennis and Lando worked together at a premiere night club/concert venue Atlanta Live were they were able to rub elbows with some of the most high profile celebrities in music history. Artist such as Busta Rhymes, Redman, Outkast, Three 6 Mafia, Raekwon, Ceelo, Da Brat, Mary J Blige, Usher, Organized Noise, they crossed paths with all these individuals only to find out that there just people like us. Same strength ,same vulnerability. That keep them stead fast in their goal to one day become the international voice of Oklahoma.



Atlanta Live closed down and immediately after that things fell apart financial wise. Ennis return to Oklahoma, then moved to Los Angeles This is where Ennis started bringing all the beats in his head to life. L.A. was the birth place of the official Light sound. Before the group just used other peoples beats.

Lando remained in Atlanta to witness the birth of his first child and continued writing and growing as a human being with his new family and home away from home. During the course of this time, Ennis sent beats through the mail and they continue to talk and collaborated on projects up until the point where Lando was driven out of his home due to a noise ordinance. Unforntunally the noise was not music being played too loud.

Once evicted from residence, Lando moved back to Oklahoma City with intentions to relocate shortly there after to L.A. to reunite with Ennis. As fate would have it, during that time Lando's father passed when visiting Oklahoma. Around the same time Ennis moved back to Oklahoma.

So thats brings us to this point. 2006, Tha Light presents Soulja Anthems Vol. 1. To be continued.



continued.What can I say? We back again. And it’s not due to any shortage of haters out there let me tell you. We back because the music’s there, point blank. Ayo not too much has been popping since the last album dropped. My (Lando) oldest sister (Carol, RIP) past & my older brother (Dexter, RIP) past. My nigga OE (the other half of the group) got diagnosed with cancer. Everything turned out cool on that though, the boy still in effect. Other than that it’s just been business as usual. We really trying to go hard with this light movement in 08, so you'll be hearing & seeing us a lot. Ayo check it, Music is life; our music is underground, and we trying to get free in 2008. Tha Light Presents Underground Railroad, the second official release from Tha Light, this album takes a stronger, more condensed form while also taking a more political approach to convey our message of peace, struggle & unity. 2008 marks the 10 year anniversary of Tha Light Foundation, a group that formed in Atlanta, GA originally from Oklahoma City, OK. For those who like it we will continue to do what we do. For those who don't, keep checking us out, maybe we'll grow on you. to be continued
