The innocent listeners hold their breaths as the mixed sounds of destruction and achievement project their way into the homes of uncountable BBC 1xtra fans, Hands griped tightly around the shaft of his musical shovel, Vortex digs deep, and is swift in burying his opponent once and for all, it wasn’t a walk in the park, however, another hard day’s work in the music industry isn’t enough to make the 20 year old MC stop there. In-fact for the past 3 years climbing higher and higher up the ladder of success has become common routine for the East London spitter, otherwise known as ‘Tex.

At the age of 16, ‘Tex became part of a collective, which went by the name ‘Full Flex Crew’, the crew started off well on Temptation FM, but their lifeline was cut, when they unfortunately decided to go their separate ways.

For the short-while Vortex threw himself into perfecting his talent for producing music, but when his big break was offered to him by former Full Flex Crew member, Darkboi to meet Crazy Titch and join his Kids in da hood empire, he knew that not grabbing it with both hands would be a big mistake.

Titch became one of ‘Tex’s close friends, throwing some chances his way that helped in building him up to his envied status, in today's world of UK urban music. Those chances included performing on the ‘Illout show’ on ‘Channel U’ with Ace and Invisible and encouraging Vortex to feature heavily on his legendary and fast selling Mix CD ‘Crazy times’.

After the controversial imprisonment of Titch, ‘Tex became the front man of the crew, which now goes by the abbreviated version of the previous name, “Inda hood”, the debut Mix CD from the camp, ‘The Hood Tape’, is being advertised now and SaintClinX suggests listening to songs such as “Hold You Down” featuring ‘P Money’ from the CD, which is dedicated to Crazy Titch.

Since his underground smash hits, ‘On da block’, ‘Breaking the scene’, ‘Union jack’ and, consecutive chart topper on 1xtra for four weeks, ‘Crazy streets’ featuring ‘Nebulon’, ‘Tex has preformed for hungry, wishful females and avid fans up and down the country and appeared in RWD and Touch magazine, as well as doing masses of DVD features, and still managing to rake in over 100, 00 views on Myspace.

So can you name one MC that featured on both Tim Westwoods slot on Radio1 and the Logan Sama show on Kiss100 at the age of 18?

Can you name an MC that works with Eski-beat signed MC Little Dee, J2K, Pmoney, Ghetto, Rudekid, and Darkboi on a regular basis yet still creates smash hits such as “Ill be your river”, which had 18,000 plays daily at its peak?

Can you name an MC who is a member of Hype city and is known by every artist in North, South, East and West that represents the same genre?

The answer is “No, you can not”, because this comedy-loving madman has had his days as an MC. Himself and his music have simultaneously matured; giving him a unique and deep style. Deliveries from Vortex so far have been dubbed as having “Nas-like depth and Cassidy-like catchiness”, so Vortex you are now, in our eyes, nothing less than, A true artist; Keep up the good work, because clear as day, is the fact this game is your calling, and although right now you are circling like a vulture in the skies of UKG, planning your route, and watching while others make mistakes you never plan too, my fingers are crossed, your chosen pray is our listening pleasure and have faith that your hunt will be more than successful.
