The legend started over 30 years ago in Tornio (a small town in northern Finland), when Laja (the only original member since then) formed a Discharge-influenced hardcore band with a few friends of his. The music they played was very unusual at the time in Finland, and so was their name, Terveet Kadet, which could be translated as 'Healthy Hands'.
The first, so called 'Classic TK line-up' since January 1980 was: Laja (vocals), Tiimo (guitars), Piasky (bass) and Peedro (drums). These young men started their career with some of the most legendary punk slabs nowadays; "Rock Laahausta Vastaan" and "Terveet Kadet II", both self-financed one-sided seven-inchers with minimum pressings of 200 copies (they were released on Laja's own IKBAL label, which has been somewhat active since the putting out of the first EP, releasing Laja's weird side projects as well as Laja's own comic books). A bit later they got a deal from a bigger label, Poko Records, and released the evergreen, worldwidely praised punk classic "Aareton Joulu" EP 1982.
Peedro left Terveet Kadet in 1983, and Walde, who died in an accident in 1984, replaced him for a short period. Some classics from that era are the "Halloween" twelve-incher and the "Black God" LP. Both were later released in Germany and the "Black God" album was also released in Brazil. After Walde's tragic death, Tilli (Laja's younger brother) took his place.
At the end of the 80's Tiimo and Piasky decided to leave the band and Terveet Kadet had their "softest" period in the history of the band. Releases from that time include "The Horse" album and the self-financed seven-inchers "Anno Domini" and "Oma Koloni" featuring A.W. Yrjana (later a member of the famous CMX) on guitar.
Laja and Tilli moved to Oulu, the noisiest city in Finland, around the year 1990 and found new members, Maike from Faff-Bey for guitars, and Kahmy for bass, who only one EP later was replaced by Lene, an old friend from Tornio.
With this new line-up; Laja (vocals), Tilli (drums), Maike (guitars) and Lene (bass), the music of Terveet Kadet became a little bit more metal orientated and lyrics changed from Finnish to English. During the next few years Terveet Kadet released several records (like the classic "Bizarre Domination" EP and the "Sign of The Cross" album) on the Finnish label Alternative Action Records.
Due to the unpleasant relationship with the A.A.R. label, Terveet Kadet started to look for a new home, and without prejudice signed to the local, small Solardisk. Their next album "The Ultimate pain" came out on January 1st, 1999.
At the end of 1998, the long time bassist Lene moved to the US of America, and a couple of months later he was replaced by a new guy, Puksu.
The whole beginning of 2000 passed by practising and demoing new material at the classic SM-Studio, where Terveet Kadet had done some of their greatest recordings of all time, like the before mentioned "Aareton Joulu".
The actual recordings took place between May 15th and June 23rd, the brand new 11-track opus was "Non Ultra Descriptica".
Before the album was finished, Lene, the ex-bass player, moved back to Finland and immediately rejoined the band as a second guitarist. Terveet Kadet performed for the first time as a five-piece band at the Tuska Metal Festival in Helsinki on July 7th, 2000. Line up then was Laja (vocals), Tilli (drums), Puksu (bass), Maike (guitar & vocals) and Lene (guitar). Later Tilli stopped playing in the band, due personal reasons and as replacement drummer came Luttinen.
4- track demo recordet at SM-Studio 26-28 in August 2002.

After the release, Onnellisia Kytkentoja 1980-2000 Terveet Kadet was on ice so to speak, five-piece band play their last gig at the Qstock festival in Oulu 2006. From 2006 onwards original member Peedro come back to drums and new guy Ilari on guitars, Lene moved to bass again. Back to roots with the new line-up Terveet Kädet started to make more and more gigs, and people liked the 80-ties style hard core. Short and fast songs with aggressive punch really led the band to new areas, and from 2007 to 2009 TK played abroad through Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany and Czeck.
In the year of 2008 TK gigged most of the festivals in Finland, including Ilosaarirock, Kuopiorock and Simerock for ex. They played few gigs with american band Naked Aggression in Sweden. They started to compose songs for an upcoming recording.
Terveet Kadet recorded 10 new -tunes in Tornio 2-4 january and 14 march 2009 . "Ihmisen poika, pedon poika" came out in cd and 10" format on July the 22th. The recording received lots of positive feedback and great reviews. It contains raw and fast songs. More gigs and tours started coming and TK performed in England and in Russia , the gigs were warmely welcomed. 2011 back to Russia and Sweden second time. Lene and Peedro left TK 2011, new guys Jani for bass and Kannisto for drums.
