I've been playing the piano since I was 9, and although I'm not technically classically trained, I did have private lessons from a local folk musician for about 5 years and have a basic knowledge of music theory. I never liked the "homework" for my lessons, I just liked figuring out what notes worked with which chords and the structure of songs. My teacher understood and switched my lessons from all classical to a mix with classic rock. I thank her for that. And I am still and avid painist, playing any keys I can get my hands on. Now, many years later, my appreciation for music has grown through new levels and broken through personal barriers. I joined Silent Auction, an electronic synthpop/industrial band in 2003 when Jason B (lead singer/founder/brains behind the music) invited me to perform at a live show at Vertex as female vocalist. Since then I have taken what I already know from piano and theory and my appreciation for techno-electronica/industrial/ebm and have begun my own journey into composition. If you are interested in hearing any of my music or Silent Auction's in the flesh, consider yourself personally invited to our next show. We'll be posting and advertising when have an exact date and location. Our set list is growing and changing as we continue to work in the studio. Thank you Jason, Jay, and Jace for enlightening me. I am forever grateful.
