Team Cannon was established in 2006 by Lance “The Player’s Coach” Cannon. It began as a clothing line, but has since evolved into a vast entertainment entity. Born and raised in suburban Philadelphia, Cannon was exposed to music at a young age. His father managed one of the hottest super groups of the late 60’s- early 70’s eras “The Delfonics,” who are credited for their hit song “La La Means I Love You”. After earning a degree in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University, Cannon moved to Dallas, Texas where his love for fashion, music and entertainment birth the vision of Team Cannon. He states,” in high school I played football and basketball and I have always had a great appreciation for the close knit relationships among team members, I wanted to establish that within Team Cannon” hence the name.
Team Cannon’s Motto: “There’s no I in team but there is me.”
In 2006, Cannon introduced the music side of Team Cannon with a mix tape titled “Bromitvah” (2006). He quotes, my goal is to take the best of the best unsigned artist that have a true passion for what they do and introduce them to the world.” The album was hosted by Team Cannon and written by Big Aziz aka DJ Kal Kutta, one of the hottest unsigned artist and producers in the Dallas area. After being on the market for just two days the album sold out of its 2500 copies pressed. The success of “Bromitvah” solidified Team Cannon’s position atop the Dallas independent rap scene and proved to Cannon that he had found his niche. The music saga did not stop there Team Cannon’s discography includes “Take One for the Team” (2007) which showcases several independent artist and features the signature Team Cannon tag. “Feastin & Beastin Vol. 1” (2008) has an endless parade of hits which features Team Cannon’s up and coming artist Tru Solja and includes 3 -tracks produced by acclaimed super producer DJ Don Cannon. Team Cannon’s newest hard hitting single” Calling My Name” is produced by KnuckleHead and features the dynamic trio Tru Solja, Big Bril and Polo Mo.

Cannon admits he initially established Team Cannon to introduce the world to Dallas’ underground music scene. However, their roster surpassed Dallas and now consists of artist all over the world. He says, “I want to bring everything back in music, from the quality of lyrical content and crazy beats, and I do not want to be limited to hip hop. We need to hear more good and powerful music on a consistent basis; I want to intertwine the old and new”. The Team Cannon family consists of a versatile group of artists and producers such as, DJ Don Cannon, Big Aziz, Tru Solja, Knesecary, Lex Lu, Yung L’z, KnuckleHead, Manal, Anai, Jus10 Gotti, and G.Vango of the Roketears.
Currently Team Cannon is finalizing Lex Lu’s debut project Queen of the D, as well as working on launching a female line of apparel and has several events planned for the latter end of 2008 on into 2009.
