TANGRAM

We Can Slow Down Light

Tangram is/has been Jason Heiselmann, Matt Bennett, Fernando Sanchez, Josh Sonntag, Molly Peters, and Sarah Lundeen. Starting out playing shows in Jay's Bakersfield living room, to headlining at some of LA's hippest venues such as The Derby, The Cat Club, The Roxy, Silverlake Lounge, and Spaceland, it's obvious that the boys of Tangram are swiftly making a name for themselves on the LA music scene.

In Fall 2005, Tangram entered the studio to begin the recordings of a four song EP, that quickly evolved into its first full-length album, We Can Slow Down

Light. The album consists of 8 solid indie rock tracks, led by refreshingly raw and uninhibited vocals, complimented by haunting melodies, huge sing-along hooks, a vibrantly intoxicating rhythm section, and exquisite guitars ranging from the subtle to the overt. The bands non-conventional approach to making music has them tossing cookie-cutter formulas out the window, opting for deftly placed layers, textures and unpredictable changes, while maintaining a distinct pop sensibility.

Just a few months into the new-year, 2006 has already begun to look promising. Recently, Tangram performed an acoustic set for Dead Air, which highlights new music from on-the-verge artists on Indie 103.1 FM in Los Angeles, "the coolest station in America" according to Rolling Stone Magazine. The band also made its TV debut as special musical guests on LATV Live, performing "Over and Out", "Senseless Brat", and "Advertise" in front of a live studio audience.

We Can Slow Down Light is set for independent release in Spring 2006 and will be available in retail and online. Tangram

is currently planning a tour in support of their debut release.
