I've been busy working in the background, trying to keep the consistency going, you know how it is I've got a band situation formulated & have been gigging mainly around the Central & North London areas to some very good reviews (I will be posting some gig dates here soon so watch this space). I'm also back in the studio on a production tip with my good friend & band member Dave Gogerly hatching out some new sounds, believe, you'll be hearing some new flavours real soon so, stay tuned in. Formally, I was known as a lead vocalist, lyricist & co-producer of an RnB/NewJack Swing band, back in the day, but more recently, it's my bass playing that is giving me my momentum. That is not to say that my other talents are abandoned, far from it. Get me in the right situation & with the right people & watch my creativity flow.
Music is my passion, especially live music (can't get enough of it) albeit, I had been off the scene for quite some time, too long, many have said (priorities of life and all that boring stuff). But, the music was always trying to rope me back in one way or another until finally, it got the upper hand on me.You can’t fight the force, I guess.
What type of music am I into? Well, my background consisted of Gospel/Jazz-Rock Fusion/RnB/Hip-Hop & NewJack Swing, but, I'll get with any form of music that is created with soul and passion. Think, The Roots, Gill Scott, Mary J Blige, Fugees, RHCH, Foo Fighters, U2, Anthony Hamilton & the likes of. It has to reach a certain spot deep down that just takes you along for the rideyou musos know what I'm talking about, & I'm talking, all live. The main ingredients for me are, a solid, tight rhythm section, cool melodies with just the right amount of natural movement, clever, realistic lyrics & solid, sincere vocals to carry it all off.
