Brooklyn-bred Tah Born was blessed with the master of ceremony craft at a young age. His prowess of the written word came as early as the age of twelve, where he began writing and testing his lyrical skill on paper. After ghostwriting for kids on the school yard, he developed the confidence and awareness that he could deliver his jewels with the same tenacity, if not better, than his benefactors and began preparing himself for the deliverance of his profound words. Self-ordained Kidd Lyric (standing for Kaos Is Doing Damage Leaving Yall Running In Circles), the transition began for the artist that stands before us today. Through the maturation process, Tah changed his name to King Assassin (standing for Kaos Is Nuff Gifted Assassin) and earned himself a position with the acclaimed rap group, Dead Poetz Society. Performing with well known artists as Jay-Z, Wu Tang Klan, Fat Joe and The Fugees at venues as acclaimed as The Palladium, Tah Born was a name soon on everyones tongue. After Dead Poetz Society dismantled, Tah went solo and went back to the basics ghostwriting, except this time the recipients were successful rap artists instead of school yard classmates. Rejoining with former manager, Suave, and networking with A&Rs, producers and other industry heavy-weights, Tah is able to get his solo debut in the works with the experience of working with Mr. Man (Fabolous, Bush Babies), Lewis Parker (Ghost Face) and DJ Nfinit, along with many others.

This Brooklyn veteran can now add Triple Threat to his many monikers. Already as a successful writer and performer, his acting debut as various characters in Off-Broadways Ghetto Chronicles reveals that there is much more in store from this multifaceted artist.

Is Hip Hop Dead? Well, if its flatlining, only the chosen can resuscitate it. Although many claim the likeness, Tah Born has been blessed with the familiarity of Hip Hop royalty the confidence of Big Daddy Kane and the lyrical ingénue of Nas and his predecessor, Rakim. Very large shoes to fill indeed, but with the silky smooth delivery of his flow, apocalyptic tales and storytelling narratives, this ghetto griot has more depth than the average studio rapper. Spitting sixteen bars like a bullet, this street phenom depicts life in East New York with humor, pain and prose.

Who is the man behind Tah Born?

Described as M.O.P with a college degree to Common Sense with an AK47, he rides the interstitial space between wisdom and gangsta.

Provocative. Organic. Powerful. Revolutionary.

Tah describes hip-hop as a woman. "Hip-hop is like a woman who needs a strong man. Shes blinded by the bling, cars and lyrics. She needs the real thing - a man who will take their time with her and bring realness back to her." Punch lines compared to the likes of Cool G Rap, Tah Born wasnt born with the typical rags to riches story. He created something out of nothing. Life, love and vision through the lines of a blank page and the vision through a focused mind. It is this grass roots approach to success, and true passion for his art, that will silence those that question, Is Hip Hop Dead? Not if he can help it.
