Singer, songwriter Taborah never holds anything back and leaves an imprint in the hearts of many. A strong, soulful and commanding vocalist she exhibits in her voice what she lives in her life.control.
After 14 weeks on the US Billboard charts 2010 may end but "Say I Love You" will not die as it continues to chart around the globe. D1 Music knew what it was doing when it released "Say I Love You" as Taborah's second single with the label. The very catchy calypso reggae style track was made famous in 1981 by Australian pop artist Renee Geyer and written by Eddie Grant. Taborah 's English and Spanish, "Dime Te Amo" recording has over 20 mixes. Some remixes include Solar City, DJ Mann, John Rizzo, Murray Hood, Casey Alva, D1 Music and more. It also features legendary Grammy nominated percussionist Sammy Figueroa.
2011 will be slightly different. Taborah teams up again with D1 Music's Peter McLean and Keith Kemper, to record the remix of her super famous Italian hit single, "My Love For You." This much anticipated single will be brought back to life with updated remixes by some very famous and familiar names. Italy made this one huge as it was Taborah's second biggest Billboard hit as she performed under the name Blackwood. Look for its release by Spring.
2009 began with the release of a Taborah classic "All I Gave To You". This single was originally released in 1993 when Taborah was the singer, songwriter and face of the group Blackwood. The new single is produced by Simon Russo. It is the first release for the new house label House Regulations located in The Netherlands. The electro house mixes are a celebrated update of her classic hit, which seems to have a never ending life.
Taborah ended the year on the Billboard Dance Club Charts for 8 weeks with a D1 Music classic remake of "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now". Taborah and Darryl D'Bonneau's vocals explode on this timeless piece. The rhythm section moves with legendary two time Grammy nominated percussionist, Sammy Figueroa. The song is uplifting and sure to get you singing. Remixes by Josh Harris, Solar City and of course D1 Music are still hot on the dance floor as this song is an anthem and will remain one for years to come.
In 2008 Taborah released her first E.P. entitled "A Piece of Me". She opened up and shared her love and passion of music. The C.D. includes "You Gotta Go 'Cause I'm Through With You", along with a variety of new material from different genres. The single has beaten out Miley Cyrus on KNHC's Phat 5.
Taborah began her career when she was chosen by Antonio Verde to become the songwriter, face and voice of the ever famous group Blackwood. She signed with the Italian label and released three albums. Blackwood's debut album "Ride on the Rhythm" was released in 1992. The album featured the ever famous single "All I Gave To You". In 1996 Blackwood re-released "Ride on the Rhythm" as a single and it charted number 1 in Billboards Hits of the World for 12 weeks. The singles that Taborah wrote while with Blackwood have been licensed in over 53 countries and are still being added to compilation CD's.
Taborah hit the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Chart with her single 'I Am (the rising)', where it remained on the charts for 16 weeks and landing a top-5 spot. It captured the attention of many thanks to Taborah's distinctive and unique voice. Taborah was honored with the distinguished 'Artist of the Year' award from New York's Heritage of Pride.
