SWINGING TERESA is an original hard rock/Grunge band from Houston Texas. They are setting new standards for a darker progressive music that has a core of melody, blending Grunge Into Metal. Swinging Teresa has covered the music scene from Detroit to Los Angeles to Phoenix to New York to Austin to Seattle and all places in between. With media attention from newspaper articles, Middleman Productions (video), Radio play to live TV appearances, Swinging Teresa is stepping out on their own.
The name Swinging Teresa is a reminder of a young girl named Teresa and all who suffer with depression and the thought of Suicide. We all go through the spells of misery. This is for strength in the end days for whoever might need it. We would like to remember all the memories and offer comfort to anyone who could use it, a little encouragement to keep fighting, when times get tough. With Swinging Teresa's positive message, we hope that our music can help the Suicidal through the night.
Starting in 2002, Mike Tillery (vocals) began to pursue music as more than just a hobby, and he teamed up with other talented local musicians, recorded, and hit the road. A lot of state lines and miles later he ended up with an extremely powerful and musically diverse band. We all are very appreciative of the paths we have traveled, both in miles and in experiences.
Swinging Teresa share the desire to tour and express themselves musically, and they released "Pressed On the Trees" on their own, with a new 9-song EP in currently in post-production. They have made a name for themselves all over the North American continent, and it has been a constant process of proving themselves to the right people, which has earned them shows in support of national acts, and a dedicated following.

Recent showcases include several appearances for the Houston Band Coalition (including at the Meridian) as well as a self-booked Southwest tour in early June 2008 that included both the fabled Whisky-A-Go-Go and The Rainbow, on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood, California.
