Swansinger stands out among local artists as a well refined, modern rock band with a slight indie bend. Catchy, powerful, emotional hooks are the bands signature; tackling serious subjects while remaining memorable and radio friendly.

Melodic riffs set the tone of the songs as the guitar and synth play leads together, blending their respective sounds into well defined hooks. For verses and refrains, the instruments often break off from one another as the keys dive into a rich tapestry of fluttering notes, backed by heavy guitar and pulse pounding drums.

Founded by singer/songwriter Joe Montalvo in Orlando, Swansinger shot up through the local scene, earning widespread praise and respect from fans, promoters, and local entertainment media, as well as garnering the attention of professional producers within the industry.

The band has performed extensively throughout Florida, captivating audiences at Hard Rock Live, House of Blues, The Florida Music Festival, and dozens of regional clubs. They have opened for several national acts, including Wovenhand, Memory Fade, and Fit for Rivals.

Influences range widely from Muse, Foo Fighters, Fugazi to Nick Cave, Nirvana, and The Police, yet they possess a sound all their own, impressing crowds with emotionally charged lyrics and high energy vocal performances.

•“The CD sounded most accomplished” - Mick Harvey (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds)

•“you may be on to something here…very intense, passionately put together songs! Excellent musicianship. I like them a lot.” - Andrea Poulis (President, Sonic Deli Records)

•“truly outstanding and unique when compared to other artists of the genre. Swansinger is definitely a prime example of a band that needs to reach the right ears, and we hope they do.”

- Jaime Eschelman (Connections Magazine)

•"Swansinger is quietly becoming one of Orlando's most interesting. Swansinger is brimming over both with ideas and the talent to execute them." - Jason Ferguson (The Orlando Weekly)

The drummer, Brandon Coleman, is already a professional working drummer, having played on several national recording artists' releases and having been signed to major labels twice while performing in previous bands. Not satisfied working in a genre outside of his personal tastes, he sought out a band that reflected a style he could better relate to. He found that with Swansinger.

Cassie Soukup, the keyboard player, is classically trained, imaginative in her melodic composition, and adds a Neo-Goth sex appeal to the band. Her synthesizer bass lines and energetic keyboard melodies add a signature twist that sets Swansinger apart from the 'traditional' rock band.

Joe Montalvo tops it all off with thick rhythm guitar, memorable leads, and passionate vocal parts. The lyrics are simultaneously thought provoking, poetic, and intelligent.

The latest CD they have recorded is entitled “Spectrum”, and features several radio ready singles, as well as tracks that are more artistically crafted, and deeper in scope and subject matter.

The album was recorded in 2009 at The Fort studio in Florida, by James Rowand who has previously recorded Paramore and Between the Trees. It was mixed and produced by Pete Thornton, whose previous credentials include Paramore, Limp Bizkit, and Shinedown.
