Swankie started to develop a desire for music when he was 11 years of age. His elder cousin used to play Drum & Bass tape packs all the time aswell as attending big events such as Helter Skelter. He would always borrow tapes off his cousin until realising where I was able to get them from. After listening to the finest DJ’s in all genres of music including Mark EG, M-Zone, DJ Sy, Hixxy, Dougal, Brisk, Force & Styles, Scott Brown, Slipmatt and Vibes Swankie started to develop a strong passion for electronic music aswell as the urge to play it.



In 1997 a friend of Swankie’s had a set of belt drive decks for Christmas. He invited Swankie over there on boxing day for a spin on them and since then he has never turned back. Swankie was always playing his decks as often as possible as he was unable to buy a pair himself due to the fact that he was in school, had no income to get a set of decks let alone have a vinyl habit. In 2002 Swankie was able to scrape money together to purchase a pair of Numark direct drive decks and a Radio Shack mixer. Since then he has purchased a pair of Technics 1210’s and a Pioneer Djm Mixer.



After a few months Swankie started to understand the beats and developed interests in trance, hard-trance and hard-style. Swankie would watch other DJ’s and concentrate on the tricks they performed to captivate their audiences and master them at home.



Swankie made a recording of an hour mixing after months of intense DJ’ing and handed cd’s out in clubs that he went to. As a result of handing out his cd’s out, he was offered to play at numerous events in the UK, alongside some major names in the DJ world including Daniele Mondello, Trance Generators, Tommy Pulse, Activator, Kutski, DJ Sy, Yoji Biomehanika, Blutonium Boy, Neo, M-Zone, Mark EG JK Walker, Captain Tinrib and Cally & Juice to name a few. Things have started growing very quickly for Swankie over the last year easpecially and he hopes 2 provide more great sounds in 2007.



Over the past 6 months Swankie has been locked away in the studio makin sum Italian hardstyle monsters with his studio partner Kashi. Within the last few months some of the scenes most respected DJ’s, Trance Generators, Cally and Juice and also Nino Pipito have been airing Swankie’s and also Swankie and Kashi’s tracks internationally.



Alot of people have been ranting about Swankie and Kashi’s latest remix (The Juvenile - Hardcore Sukkas FutureSoundCorp39) which is proving to b a huge hit worldwide with airings and support from all angles *1st track on my space player above*.



Before DJ’in Swankie used 2 have a bit of a mad hobby, YoYo’in. The YoYo’s have been tucked away for sometime now but were dug out the other day for a taste of the good old days. Check out the video below.



Swankie has now been made resident at SURGE. SURGE is usually held at Confessions Nightclub in Banbury, England. Most definatly 1 of the best systems/events in UK.
