Going back in the annals of rock history, Arizona's contribution to its superstars is rich. More recently, a new generation of millennium rockers whose stars are on the rise- bands like Suicide Circus, who have blended old school influences including Black Sabbath and with modern day metal stars including Disturbed and Black Label Society to find a sound that RX Magazine describes as a "band that gets it! Their songs have catchy lyrics that you remember after one listen, the guitar work is crunchy and heavy when needed and not overdone…This album is different from song to song…Suicide Circus' Self-Titled CD is a good one to own." That debut self-titled LP was released in September of 2006 to a host of other glowing reviews from around the rock nation, including MaximumThreshold.com, which gave the band's music a 4-star thumbs-up, raving that "Suicide Circus instantly took me to a new metal level. Crunching guitars, melodic and steady back beats, and pounding drums." Even more notable was the glowing review the band received from their hometown paper, the Phoenix New Times, which highlighted listening to the album as "a downright dirty and delicious experience. With gritty rock riffs, growling bass lines and big choruses, the band's Southern metal-meets-stoner doom rock sound…(offers) lots of good stuff here!" Fronted by Todd Staples on lead vocals and guitar, Suicide Circus offers metal fans a sound that falls "along the lines as if Skynyrd and Pantera had an illegitimate baby and Zakk Wylde was the weird uncle that came around to baby-sit." Picked as Dunlop Guitar Parts manufacturing giant's Band of the week in May 2008, the bands current manufacturing endorsements include Atomic Guitars, ProTone Pedals, HotPicks, and HBE Electronics. Suicide Circus has been working hard on the road to expand their rapidly growing fan base, completing a series of regional tours of San Diego CA, Los Angeles CA, Reno NV, Las Vegas NV, and Albuquerque NM. Suicide Circus has headlined at legendary rock live staples like the Whiskey-A-Go-Go in Hollywood, had main-stage appearances at the AZ State Fair as well as the Stoner Hands of Doom Festival. Suicide Circus has also shared the stage with L.A. Guns, George Lynch, Jimmie VanZant and Bang Tango. Heading into 2011, the professional prospects couldn't be brighter for Suicide Circus, so join the movement by checking the band out online at www.suicidecircus.com/ or www.myspace.com/suicidecircus
