Submission started in the spring, 2003 with the two guitarists, Kasper Kirkegaard, Christoffer Petersen, and a drummer named Thomas, but he was quickly replaced by the highly skilled drummer, Morten Loewe Soerensen.

Shortly after that, Steven Qvist joined the band as a vocalist, and Submission began to write material for their first demo. All the members had experiences from other bands and knew what they were up to. They wrote their first demo which contained 5 songs, and was called : “Submission – Submission”.

It was recorded at the local “House of youth” in their Danish hometown, Esbjerg, by themselves, and Jacob Hansen (Invocator, Anubis Gate).

Shortly after that, they found a bassplayer, (Bjarne Christiansen).

The demo resulted in a Danish Metal Award for “Best self-financed Demo/Promo CD”.

Submission was excited about this award, but they all knew, that they could do much better than that.

They played a few shows around Denmark, and returned home to the rehearsal room, where they began to write new material for the Demo : “Pain or pleasure”, which were recorded at “Hansen Studio’s” (Invocator, Hatesphere, Volbeat, etc).

The Demo contained 4 new songs and was mixed at Antfarm Studio by Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Ektomorf, Aborted, etc).

The Demo was shipped around to a few different record labels, and they ended up with a deal with, Listenable Records. This landed them a gig at the famous Roskilde Festival 2005 (Denmark), as opening act, and also the opportunity to be on the compilation Dvd of the Roskilde Festival 2005, along with other upcoming international bands. Hereafter things got serious, and they decided they had to find a new Bassplayer which became, Boris Tandrup (Autumn Leaves, Slugs, Scavenger).

They now began to write their debut album, “Failure to perfection” which was released in 2006 in Europe, and most of America and Asia.

The album not only brought the band some amazing reviews (6/7 Metal Hammer) & (8.5 Rock Hard etc.) It Also brought them two more Danish Metal Awards, for “Best song of the year”, (Deathride to escape), and “Best Debut album of the year”.

Unfortunately due to disagreements, they had to give up their work with Listenable Records. But this didn’t knock them out. They began to write material for a following album to their first success, and were offered a new deal with Danish recordlabel, “Mighty Music”, but at the same time, their frontman, Steven Qvist decided to leave Submission. Standing with a recorded new album, with no vocals, they searched for a new frontman for their band, and shortly after, they found Lasse Sivertsen, and they began recording the vocals for their second album, “Code of Conspiracy”.

It wasn’t long after this, that they were offered two support gigs for Swedish Meshuggah in Gothenburg, and Malmo in Sweden.

After that, they unfortunately again, had to quit their work with their label, Mighty Music, and they parted ways professionally.

They once again searched for a new Label to release their second album, and were offered a deal with Swedish/American Label, “Blistering Records”, who will release the album worldwide, late April 2009.

Furthermore, Submission was offered a Tour around Denmark, with Danish “Mercenary”. As things are now, Submission is ready for tours and more songwriting in the future.
