After 7 years of kicking ass the band has called it quits! Alot is going on with the remaining members and all are onto new projects, we hope you enjoyed the music that we've put out, and the stuff that didn't get put out. Big thanks to all our fans and friends that we've made along the way, we'll miss you all! With a name meaning as twisted as Strigoi's, (the sound that evil souls of the dead make when rising from the tombs at night to haunt the living) you might expect to hear some unholy utterances unleashed upon the audience. That expectation would hit the nail on the head, repeatedly, with a jackhammer. This band is a powerhouse of epic proportions, driving those pounding compositions solidly home. Strigoi is a wealth of talent from the drummer to the front men and side to side, they'll take ya on a helluva resonating rollercoaster ride. You won't soon forget the rockin steady beat of percussion, the strings of rhythmic strumming in time, building uphill to the peaking crescendo of deep, thrusting screams and piercing lyrics of dual vocalists. You can't find musicians with the mind-bending skills of this caliber just anywhere. Bold delivery style and memorable stage presence take stride alongside the incredible musicianship that is condensed and concentrated within Strigoi. A show you can't afford to miss!

Strigoi began their legacy in 2001. After a "not so serene" break up of a previous band, Ern and Wylie sought out to start a band that would take an aggressive edge in the Eastern Washington scene. They chose Mark Missett to play guitar, as he had the same drive to play hardcore music, and could actually play. After beginning with four songs, Noel Valdez (Guitar with Ern and Wylie's previous band) showed some interest in joining the group. Noel’s heavy groove has proven to have an effect on the bands sound, and added a lot more depth to the guitar structure of the style they were trying to develop. With the bands musicians established they began searching for a vocalist. James Gottula was the first to call and ask for a shot. James had sung in numerous bands and had known Wylie and Noel for several years. Many others tried for the open slot, but only one other had the deep guttural voice that the band was looking for. David Ostler had left his mark on the rest of the band. Although the band couldn't decide which vocalist they liked better, they tried the 2 together, and found the missing links that would make Strigoi one of the heaviest bands to come out of their area.

Three months into the formation of the band, Strigoi took the 11 songs that they had compiled and headed to a small garage in Seattle to record their first Demo. Not having a lot of money, like a lot of bands today, "Death Of Us All" was recorded and mixed in 3 days. "Aggressive Hardcore", would be the most accurate description of genre, as it is on the edge of Death Metal, and Hardcore. Many have tried to label this band and come up short, as it is not Death Metal, as some would say, and quite not your "Nu-metal" of today.

In 2005 Strigoi took the opportunity to record some of their most recent work. Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, with the help of John Winters, allowed Strigoi to record 5 of their most recent songs. These songs give a small sample of what Strigoi is about as they have progressed.

Strigoi has played in local spots in the Tri-Cities area, Walla Walla, Yakima, Seattle, Everett, Bremerton, Tacoma, Spokane, and Northern Idaho. Strigoi was a fully charged killing machine, ready to set the stage on fire, and devastate the pits in which they live for.

2007 has been a rough year for the band, with dissention among the ranks, Ern decided to leave the band, with 9 new songs waiting to be recorded for their long awaited second release, the band sits in limbo. The fate of the band has yet to be decided with harsh accusations flying around, and decisions to be made regarding the bands future if any. Who knows what’s in store for this Metal Monstrosity!
