Having such a powerful inspiration for music, Legend (Anthony Rico) is not your typical lyricist. This developing emcees motivation has never been fortune and fame. He creates music to express himself, and to help listeners understand his outlook on life. Music and art has always been something that he had an interest for -- and was something that he became very dedicated and passionate about. Raised in Ventura, California, Legend studied varieties of hip-hop. (2pac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Big L, Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, Etc. ) Influenced by the music he listened to, he began to recite lyrics of his own. During the many years of song writing, he was able to to develop himself independently as an artist. After Legend recognized the talent he had possessed, he realized that his music needed critical support. Anthony began doing shows at the young age of sixteen, so he was always relatively comfortable performing his lyrics. But, In the summer of '07, his talent would finally be credited -- giving him access to produce music under an official establishment (Noisy Neighbors Entertainment). "As long as his voice is alive, Legend will always have new chapters of a story to reveal." During his past shows, he has performed with artists like Krs-One, Killah Priest of the Wu-Tang Clan, Cashis of Shady Records, Planet Asia and Roscoe of the Cali Agents, 2Mex of the Visionaries, and many more. "Music shouldn't be used as a tool to produce income. You have to really love what you're doing, making money is just icing on the cake" says Legend. He continues to make good music, and express himself in the lists of songs he writes.
