BIOGRAPHY: "Come On" is the signature phrase and intro that distinguishes Rally Bop from his dancehall contemporaries. He was born Rohan Wilson in 1981 and hails from Linstead, St. Catherine Jamaica where he spent the first 10 years of his life. He migrated to New York City in 1991 to reside with his mother and older sister. At age 12, the magic began. Rally Bop began to perform cover tunes and writing poetry, which soon lead to song lyrics. In 1995, he got an opportunity to perform at several nightclubs in New York City. He hypnotized people with his lyrics, and his stage performances left the crowd speechless. His confidence increased and he decided to pursue music as a career. In 1997, he began to start voicing for different producers. His first two songs were "She's Like An Angel" and "Love Me" which caught the attention of producer Flabba from Mo Music. Flabba decided to create a duo including Rally Bopp and singer Christopher. The outcome was 3 big tunes: "Bashy Bashy", "W-ich Gyall", and "Gwaan Michelle" which dominated the clubs and local radio stations. The duo later split and Rally Bop took a musical hiatus. After about a year of deep soul searching, he decided it was time to get back into the business and pursue a solo career. He collaborated with producer Lenky from Shy Shy Records and voiced on one of their newest riddims at the time, called the "Shagadelic" in November 1999. The single was "Who She" and it received massive radio play in the United States and abroad. This contributed to "DJ OF THE YEAR - MALE - NATIONAL" Nomination for the 13th Annual Tamika Reggae Awards and many performance opportunities. His favorite song is "My Mama Always Told Me to Aim High" by Wayne Osbourne which has been the inspiration for his determination to succeed in this highly competitive music industry. Although Rally Bop is content with the present state of reggae music, he acknowledges the politics that new artist often encounter and hopes to be very instrumental in the resolution. "I want to bring back the love in the music, provide opportunities for new talents and establish a community charity in the future, says Rally Bop." When asked how he would like to be remembered when all is said and done, he replies, "One of the toughest, roughest Jamaican forever." Some of his latest releases includes: "Swing It Away" featuring Sample Six and Nadia Rose, "Pressure" and, his most creative work so far "The Story" all on the Garisson Label Produced by Smokey. His hit single "Jamaica" can be heard on Reggae Vibes Productions Inc "Guala Guala Rhythm Compilation Cd." CHECKOUT OUR OTHER PAGES: GARISSON RECORDS / 32 MUSIC AND STRAINJAH
