The group originated in November 1993 from Hollister, North Carolina and is mainly comprised of Haliwa Saponi members. The other tribes represented in Stoney Creek group are Waccamaw Siouan, Lumbee, Tuscarora and Coharie Native American Indians. Their songs are composed in the Tutelo-Saponi language.
