Stevie Wonder once said that “One should seek to create music that is timeless, for each project takes on its own life. The ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.” For Singer/Songwriter Stevie Diamond, he has been blessed to have both the ability and character to take him there. Stevie is not your average, ordinary artist. He’s someone that will bring something to the table with determination and will not be “just a memory”. His sound is fresh, rejuvenating, and stimulating. His passion for music and his skill in controlling and delivering his work is what makes him unique, and also mirrors his integrity as an artist and person.
Stephen Potts (August 20, 1986) known as “Stevie Diamond”, was raised where genre of music such as, gospel and oldies music were continuously played in his parents’ Portsmouth, Virginia home. Stevie’s tremendous gift was recognized and was insisted on joining the gospel choir at a family church at the age of 7. He then began singing regularly at schools, churches, and community events where the audience were always amazed by his talent and was given remarkably positive responses to his voice. Encouraged by his family, and peers, he began giving career in music as a serious thought. By then, he discovered R&B and Jazz and found himself with Stevie Wonder, Fred Hammond, and Michael Jackson as his biggest influences and aspirations.
Stevie had the opportunity to meet with individuals such as, Teddy Riley, Missy Elliott, and Jack Knight (Head writer of Bad Boy Entertainment). He also had the opportunity to work with Justin Winthers (Managed for J.Holiday), Q (Producer for “Back of My Lac” for J. Holiday), songwriter Corte Ellis, and artist J. Holiday, just to name a few. Recently, he performed at the Jazz Festival (Hampton, VA), opened up for the Build Up Festival (Newport News, VA) that was hosted by DJ Whoo Kid and also performed at the Expo Club in Washington D.C.
Stevie has also established Diamond Hitz Entertainment, LLC. along with producer, J. “Sharp” Curtis and is currently working on his debut album titled as “Love Is War”. As a songwriter, he’s capable of not only writing music for himself, but for others as well. “My immediate goal for now is to promote my album, “Love Is War” and to be able to create music that connects with my audience on an emotional level with topics or situations that they can relate to and for people to just enjoy my music.” says Stevie. After establishing himself as a respected singer/songwriter, Stevie hopes to make progress with his company by working with other aspiring artists, and to also continuously build his skills and talent as an entertainer.
