Muliti-talented producer, songwriter and musician Steve Butler is always on the move. In addition to performing live and honing his skills on several instruments at which he's proficient, Butler also has spent the last decade producing a vaiety of projects that range from R&B and hip-hop to dance and rock. Currently, he's moving his eight-piece band, The Steve Butler Movement, toward a resurgence of classic soul with a full brass section and powerful vocalists rooted in soul, funk and R&B.

With Something for the People, his debut album featuring trumpeter Ron Haynes, Butler produces a funky and soulful tribute to the craftsmanship of classic R&B music. The carefully constructed album is a melding of classic and contemporary sound. Counting James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, and Earth Wind and Fire among his influences, Butler's album recalls atime when creating great music meant getting musicians together and capturing the magic that arises from the fusion of the individual expression of each artist.

Butler is a producer and musician from Chicago's South Side whose credits include production for acts such as Grammy-nominated artist Skee-lo, Virgin Recording artist Mikkey, Twista, Do or Die, Abstract Giants, and P-1; major movie soundtracks; and scores of radio and television commercials.
