Drawing from the guitar licks of the old blues and folk masters with the lyrics of a contemporary roots artist, 23-year-old songwriter Steve Wedemeyer is an old soul from the old school. Whether he is alone on his guitar or backed by a band, Wedemeyer’s songs are an honest glimpse of life and the relationships that surround us all, leaving aside the frills that confuse us all. To his audience Wedemeyer’s music is simple, straight-up, barroom roots rock that is rough and tattered on the surface, but gentle and sincere at its core.
