Sterling Riot began in 2005 as a music project of Davis California based singer/song-writer, Rob Roy. It expanded into a beautiful cacophony of noise with seven members playing the accordion, banjo, bass, drums, glockenspiel, guitar, and violin. But currently it is on hiatus because Rob Roy resides in South Korea. The band has not played a show together since 2008.

What you hear on this site are poorly (and roughly) recorded home demos. We are working on four different concept albums at once. We planned to record teaser CD-R called "Rough" in 2008, which would have included a few tracks from planned future albums. But we never managed to get out shit together. Below are some photoshop projects Rob did. One album title has since been taken. We thought that it would have could out, but I guess Axl got his shit together before Sterling Riot did.

"Bones Kind of Love"Angsty songs of heart break

"From Sea to Shining Sea"A concept album with songs about 19th century America.

"Chinese Democracy"Songs about the world's moral and political decay.

"Big Moments in Small Hours"Songs with the central thesis of temporality.

Our live shows include history lessons and sing-a-longs but most of all we are a motley crew trying to get the crowd dancin'.

Kevin Wan, the owner of Sophia's Thai Kitchen and Bar in Davis, said our show was the surprising of the season for 2007. We're most often compared to Bruce Springsteen or Against Me! but one reviewer said we sound like the bastard child of Tom Waits and the Rolling Stones. See for yourself.
