The pop sensation STEPS began way back in 1996 where the five members of STEPS, who had never met each other, all answered the same advert that appeared in "The Stage" to attend an open audition for a five-piece line-dancing pop group. Five thousand applicants later and over a period of six months these entries were whittled down to just five lucky people who were to become one of the biggest pop groups that the world has seen. The five lucky people were Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Lisa Scott-Lee, Lee Latchford Evans and Ian Watkins
