Stephanie Fagan, began her musical career at North Greenville University in an all girl folk group named Flowers by Gert. After leaving college - and getting fired from her day job - Stephanie hit the road, a self proclaimed vagabond, traveling the southeast as a solo performer.
Those months of sleeping under the stars and on the couches of kind strangers enhanced her songwriting skills and grew Stephanie as an artist. "I fell in love with the earth and the people in it." Her self-released first album, 2009's "Ideas for Your Earbone" reflects her strong vocal and songwriting talents which have earned her a loyal and eclectic regional fanbase.
Nearly two years later, much has changed for Stephanie as she re-enters the studio to work on her second record. Now a military wife residing at Fort Bragg, her perspectives on romance, life, and people have matured far beyond her early years of sleeping on couches.
This also marks Stephanie's first release on an independent record label. "The last album was recorded at many different studios, with different players on each track," says Stephanie. "Being able to go into the same studio, with the same musicians, engineer, and producer, has created a more cohesive sound this time around."
Weaving themes of love, obsession, and regret with difficult choices (and a drunk dial or two) Stephanie's new album promises to be both a passionate and a highly relatable collection of heartfelt tales.
"Heart Thief" will be released on December 6th, 2011 on the Yonder Music label.
