Her band features Steve "Maddog" Call, Leon Russell, David Allen Coe, Sideshow, Ruby Star. Steve "Maddog" Call also performed studio work for A&M and Shelter Records. Stella and Steve create arock sound like no other. Stella has a unique and powerful voice that combines musical styles, from Rock-N- Roll to R&B. STELLA, has the beat.
Stella Blue Band has performed with bands such as: Jim Dandy's BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, ANDY TANAS of Krokus/BOA, ZAK PERRY BAND, NINTH LIFE, and others a like. In addition, The Stella Blue Band is about to unvail their new CD, all original material. The Stella Blue Band hooked up with Cabala Productions in 2003. Futhermore, she has been on the list of one of the best of Cape Scenes hottest new acts until her recent relocation to the Southwest Missouri area.
Stella Blue on her own originates from the woods of the Ozark Mountains. She began traveling the U.S. at an early age with hopes of broadening her horizons and learning how to tattoo. Stella first became fascinated with guitar on the streets of San Diego, California, while hanging out with the street musicians of Ocean Beach. Never staying too long in one place, Stella taught herself to play, sing, and write her own music. After six years of playing guitar a long with getting and doing tattoos, her style of writing and performing developed like no other. Some of those who have influenced and inspired Stella, but not limited are, Stone Temple Pilots, Al Di Meola, Tesla, Cher, Sass Jordan, Joe Cocker, Leon Russell and, CSNY.
Stella Blue is backed by the undeniable talent of experienced musicians wherever she may perform. Heading up the band Roster is, Steve "Maddog" Call . Steve hails from the 60's and 70's era of Tulsa, Oklahoma's music scene. This is where he cut his teeth playing for such greats as : Leon Russell, Pure Prarie League, Quicksilver, Gap Band, Taj Mahal, David Allen Coe, Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker's Maddogs and Englishmen. The list goes on with, Dave Riley, Delany & Bonnie, and J.J. Cale. Maddog spent the entire decade of the 70's infiltrating rock history in the shadows of Shelter Records and A&M Records as a studio musician and performer. Steve "Maddog" Call is a vital versatile part of the bang, that is, The Stella Blue Band. Other musicians who have performed with The Stella Blue Band are as follows: Winston Blair of Martina Mc Bride, Danny Diaz of War, Earl Grigsby of Charlie Daniels Band, Tommy De Wolf, Leslie Wright, Jonny Krewinghouse, Dave Swords, and Jerry Sticks.
This cross generational breed of genres is like a love child of rock, folk, red dirt, and blues. The originality of this artistry can't be matched by categorizing or labeling.The Stella Blue Band will captivate you and others leaving you humming their songs for long to come.
