2010 saw the release of Stella Blackrose's debut album "Kiss The Dirt". It was met with favorable reviews in their native country of Denmark and generated quite a buzz.
On top of that, the songs had a very successful run on Fame Games (the world's biggest independent internet radio station) and GarageBand; a strong indication that there is an interest in Stella Blackrose far beyond the borders of Denmark.
But there was even more love for Stella Blackrose within the Danish borders: one of Denmark's biggest newspapers BT, declared Stella Blackrose to be "the new stars of rock'n roll" in an enthusiastic review of their live performance at the legendary Skanderborg Festival.
The rest of 2010 was spent touring, appearing on Danish national television and last but not least - preparing their next sonic onslaught.
Stella Blackrose released the long-awaited follow-up album titled "Death & Forever" in Denmark on May the 7th - it was written, recorded and mixed in their newly built recording studio in the outskirts of Copenhagen.
The album charted in the Danish top 50 and was praised in the alternative press for being a more coherent and mature album with an apparent international appeal.
The response from the European press was also favorable to say the least. Following is a selection of quotes taken from the numerous positive reviews of Death & Forever:
"Modern but also timeless rock, that really kicks butt" - Rock It! (GE)
"So many strong rock tracks from the ultra-modern Danish quintet!" - Metal Hammer (GE)
"A dense wall of guitars and a powerful voice are the basic ingredients of one of the most striking Nordic rock bands today" - RockTotal (ESP)
"Lots of great songs - the overall impression you get from "Death & Forever" is very positive" - Scream Magazine (NOR)
