It doesn't take much to become a fan of Stacy Burke. All you have to do is hear the first note of her first song, and you're hooked. The Montreal-born, BC-raised artists first recording projects involved some of Canada's most successful artists, including Randy Bachman and Tom Hooper (Grapes of Wrath, Ginger).

Stacy's live performances have been compared to such established female vocalists as Patty Griffin and Dolly Parton, but her indie sensibilities give her music an edginess that is simultaneously wise and refreshing. Hers is a voice not soon forgotten.

The Toronto-based singer/songwriter has just completed her much-anticipated debut full-length album Like a Good Woman Might in response to the growing demand from her audiences.

Like a Good Woman Might was recorded and produced by Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre, Ohbijou) and features band members John Dinsmore (NQ Arbuckle, Kathleen Edwards) and James Bunton (Ohbijou), as well as special guest appearances by Michael Johnston (Skydiggers) and Suzie 'Oh Susanna' Ungerleider.

With dark, evocative tracks such as Corn Whiskey and The Beast of Gevaudan, alongside high energy bluegrass-infused Keep Your Mind Still, this album proves that Stacy's powerful songwriting matches the strength of her voice.

Stacy will be touring in support of Like a Good Woman Might's release in the Fall of 2010.
