HISTORY of THE SPOON BENDERS:

Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Matt Winfree founded The Spoon Benders in 2002. Over time, Matt clocked well over 1,000 shows with a series of enlisted band mates which subsumed a total of 3 drummers and 4 bass players. The longest stint which included 3 national tours, a live album, a studio album (which was recorded and produced in Lexington), and a "best live band" award was with drummer Brian Bennett & bassist Yves Giraud. Matt relocated to Nashville in '07 where he enjoyed his last year with his final rhythym section- with bassist Adam Jones & drummer Andy Leab. Then the unimaginable happened. Matt fell in love and followed his heart to Honolulu in '08 where his currently resides with his lovely lady Aliza. He hasn't completely thrown in the musical towel- he does shows in paradise now. And here's the coolest thing. All eight former Benders have remained friends, their fans (who became more like family) still stay in touch, and, occasionally, they do South Florida reunion shows. And it's always a blast.
