SPELLBOUND

Spellbound gibt es bereits seit 1999, sind in Überlingen am Bodensee beheimatet und bestehen aus den vier Mitgliedern Dave Maier (Gitarre, Vox), Daniel Tschoepe (Gitarre), Andy Flache (Schlachzeuch) und Hannes Jäger (Bass). Das Konzept der Musiker liegt darin Endachtziger Thrash Metal mit einer modernen Schlagseite zu versehen ohne zu verstaubt oder zu steril zu klingen. Während der Entwicklung der letzten Jahre kam die Band nach den zwei Demo Cds "First Contact" und "Extensions" ihrem Ziel immer näher und arbeiteten intensiv an neuem Material um im November 2004 Ihr erstes Studioalbum "Incoming Destiny" aufzunehmen. Die Wahl fiel auf das Stage One Studio um zusammen mit Andy Classen die Idee zu verwirklichen ein aggressives Thrash Metal Album zu produzieren das sowohl alte Vibes als auch frische, moderne Elemente miteinander verbindet. Herausgekommen ist ein absolut zeitgemässes Metal Album das aus kompositorischer und produktionstechnischer Sicht der Metal-Welt keinesfalls vorenthalten werden sollte. Das erkannte auch das Labelmanagement von Armageddon Music und bot den Jungs kurzerhand einen Labeldeal an! Nach mehreren gespielten Festivals und der absolvierten "W:O:A Roadshow" Tour 2006, mit Ensiferum, Orphaned Land und Noise Forest, ging es nach diversen Line Up Wechseln direkt wieder in Studio um den "Incoming Destiny" Nachfolger "Nemesis 2665", wieder im Stage One Studio einzuzimmern. Das Ergebnis ist eine ausserordentliche Weiterentwicklung des Spellboundsounds und wird im August 2007 über Armageddon Music veröffentlicht! Neben der musikalischen Ausrichtung sind die textlichen Inhalte ein weiterer wichtiger Bestandteil der Band. So setzt sich Textwriter David mit Theorien von Geheimwissen und Verschwörungstheorien auseinander. Anders aber als viele andere Bands die sich diesem, inzwischen modern gewordenem Thema verschrieben haben, sucht er nicht nach Schuldigen, sondern beleuchtet eher die Auswirkungen in Form von Interpretationen jenseits der menschlichen Vorstellungskraft.



SPELLBOUND was founded in 1999 and they are resident in Überlingen which is directly at the lake of constance. The current line up is Dave Maier (guitar,lead vocals), Daniel Tschoepe (guitar, backing vocals), Andy Flache (drums) and Hannes Jäger (bass, backing vocals).
The concept of the musicians is based on combining old school 80ies Thrash Metal with modern elements without sounding antiquated or sterile.
During the development in the last years, the band came bound to theirs aim closer and closer after having recorded the two demo-cds "First Contact" and "Extensions". They intensely worked in new material to record their first studio album "Incoming Destiny" in November 2004.
The choice fell on the well known "Stage-One-Studio" to realise together with producer Andy Classen the idea, to record an aggressive Thrash-Metal album which connects old vibes as well as fresh and modern elements. There has come out a magnificent, absolute contemporary metal album with a high technical and compositional standard, which should not be kept away from the Metal fans !
After having played live at some festivals and the "W:O:A Roadshow-Tour 2006", the band had to deal with several line-up changes.
SPELLBOUND entered the "Stage-One-Studio" again in November 2006 to record the "Incoming Destiny" successor "Nemesis 2665" together with Andy Classen. The result is an outstanding evolution of the typical "spellboundsound" which should help the band catapult them to the top of the german underground! Beside the musical adjustment, the textual contents are another important component to the band. Thus textwriter David argues with theories of confidential knowledge and conspiracy theories. But different to most of the other bands, which deal with this "topical" themes, David is not looking for culprits but lights up rather the consequences in the form of interpretations beyond the human imagination.
