Sour Jane

Sour Jane is a Flint, Michigan, modern-rock band formed in 2005 by Chris Pennington, Shawn Ramsey, Tony Blom and Clay Frink.



History

Sour Jane was formed when members Chris Pennington and Tony Blom connected with Shawn Ramsey and Clay Frink (Dixie Hustler). The band quickly wrote and released “2 Nights On MLK Blvd.” featuring 2 songs (Even Now & Curtains) in preparation of a live show with Detroit based Sponge.



In order to financially support their debut independently released full length disk “Curtains” the band relied on live shows. Sour Jane has performed with several national recording artists such as: Shinedown, Sponge, Black Stone Cherry, Skid Row, Trapt, Taproot, Jackyl, Crossfade, Framing Hanley, Smile Empty Soul, Operator, Blackberry Smoke, Dark New Day, Alter Bridge and Saliva. The band has traveled extensively throughout the mid-western United States as well as the south. Sour Jane has been featured at the world famous “Tootsies” in Nashville TN and makes “The Machine Shop” in Flint, MI their home.



In August of 2008 Sour Jane independently released “Curtains” which features 12 original tracks. “Curtains” can be purchased at www.cdbaby.com. The band has been featured on ABC channel 12 (Flint) as well as performed live in studio at WWBN Banana 101.5FM.



The band makes the Flint, MI area their home and continues to perform local and nationally. Currently, Sour Jane is working on a 3rd CD release. No date has been set for the band release their latest material but work is in progress.
