SOUNDCHASER

Formé en 2002 par le bassiste compositeur Louis de Mieulle, SOUNDCHASER est à la fois un groupe expérimental et un groupe « de plaisir ». Au départ influencée par le jazz électrique épique des années 70 (« Chasin’ the Sound », 2003), la musique a pris une tournure plus extrême, math-groove, scandinave diront certains.
Après s’être produit dans les clubs parisiens et en province (Amiens, Rouen, Beauvais), SOUNDCHASER rejoint le label [ikoz] en 2006, et enregistre l’album « Groovechaser », espèce de chose engendrée par l’union du Groove et des Nombres. Le groupe participe la même année à la soirée de lancement du label, à la Lune des Pirates, d’où naîtra un magnifique DVD mélangeant électro, funk-jazz et rock’n’roll.
SOUNDCHASER partit en tournée aux USA en décembre 2008, où il retrouvait pour l’occasion le brillant saxophoniste Alexandre Terrier, ancien membre du groupe émigré à New-York



Created in 2002 by bassist-composer Louis de Mieulle, SOUNDCHASER is at the same time an experimental band and a “pleasure” band. Early days were influenced by the epic electric jazz of the 70’s (“Chasin’ the Sound”, 2003) – today it sounds more like a Swedish math-metal band focusing on jazz (or maybe it’s the opposite).
After series of concerts in Paris jazz clubs and in the north of France (Amiens, Rouen, Beauvais), SOUNDCHASER joins the [ikoz] label in 2006, and records the “Groovechaser” album, a monstruous creature born from the union of Groove and Numbers. That same year, the band appears on the [ikoz] Live DVD, celebrating the coexistence of electronica, funk-jazz and rock’n’roll on a same stage.
SOUNDCHASER went on the road in USA in December 2008, for a series of concerts with the promising Alex Terrier, ex-Soundchaser now living in NYC.
