Segment of Society Promotions is a grass roots booking and promotion service, created by Robin Coleman in September of 2004. A labor of love, SOS brings independent singer/songwriters mainly from the genres of: folk, folk-rock, americana, acoustic & bluegrass to the community. Don’t be surprised if you see some rock, jazz or poetry thrown in there too. Working with at least six different venues in Indianapolis, you’ll find diverse and eclectic settings welcoming to the musician and music lover. Having built a reputation heralded by local and touring musicians, Segment of Society Promotions purpose is to bring quality talent to the area in an intimate setting, celebrating the joy of music, diversity and community. All for the love of the music.
Do you dig what Robin, (who IS Segment of Society) is doing for the music scene ? Help offset some of her costs by making a donation today !
Below are a few details about what I do and the venues that I currently work
with. Once we make contact and begin discussing a possible gig, I'll provide
more details.
What I do for YOU is:
4Secure the venue
4Make flyers (or you can mail
some to me) and post about town
4Promote show via my website,
and other websites and e-mails
4Sell your merch
during the show
4Provide a PA if needed
4Take photos and post them on
my website & can e-mail to you if you like
4I also have the ability to
record your show if you like.
4A comfy couch to crash on (or
floor)

About my Top Friends:
You'll find artists with a myspace page in the order of their
appearance date. It should pretty much jive with the
Segment of Society event calendar.
Exceptions are:
* Melissa Ferrick will always be first,
she is my inspiration plain and simple. Check her out
if you have never heard her music or seen her live.
*Some will be artists I plan on seeing live and not
actually booking them (although I may have at one time)
*Others may be artists that I'm in the process of
finalizing a future gig date with.
*And still some may be folks I admire, love and
really care about
I've had the pleasure of booking singer/songwriter, Katie Reider, a few times and she is such a sweetheart and all around good person. And a great musician as well. Katie passed away on Monday July 14th after a long battle with a rare tumor, which started in her sinus cavity. Over the past two years of her battle, she has lost much weight, her sight in her left eye, most of her pallet, her teeth on the left side, much of her cheek and jaw bone, not to mention her beautiful voice and her abiliity to perform. Her passing has shattered my heartand I'm having a tough time as I'm sure many are. I encourge you to visit www.500kin365.org to learn more about Katie, her music and her story. Katie, I love you sweetie.
This clip is from Katie's show I booked February 23, 2007 at Radio Radio in Indianapolis:

Please, please visit www.500kin365.org and learn more about Katie's story and get to know her music. We love you Katie !!!
