Sophie Hiller

Sophie says:

"My music is kind of souly/jazzy/funky. I try to put a modern twist on it," she explains. "It is Motown, jazz and soul influences with a poppy edge. I take inspiration from a lot of the old classics - Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor - as well as more contemporary artists - Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera, Adele."



Sophie has built up a solid fan base via MySpace and YouTube over the last few years and is in the process of working on her debut EP. She often performs acoustic versions of her songs live and has been a regular at the Bedford and the Regal room, more recently guesting with 'Jackanory and the Ball' at various venues,



She uploads her own youtube takes of well known tunes, her recent version of Justin Bieber's hit 'Baby' caught the eye of Gary Wallis MD/Drummer for Pink Floyd, Il lDivo and many others including, currently Tom Jones, he was so impressed with her performance that he asked to come along for an audition to be in the band, he loved her work. And was offered the job.



In August Sophie flew off to Monte Carlo and then the MGM Grand in Vegas, on tour with Sir Tom. She recently appeared on 'Paul O'Grady live' on ITV and will be with him for numerous concerts including. The Princes trust and 'Good morning America' in New York, plus gigs in Moscow and Canada, She's the youngest member ever of the Tom Jones band.
