It's a proven fact that when Orlando is thought about, by the general public, the first two things that come to mind are Disney World and tourism. Hip-hop is not a fixation that will enter your mind when Orlando is spoke upon. Many have come to the spotlight to try and break Orlando out of that mold, but most have failed. This will all change with the Orlando born cross-town bred artist Soon Boy Da Menace. With the drive and determination, Soon Boy is here to give you fact that Orlando is not just Disney World and tourism.



Growing up in the Parramore district where poverty, drugs, and crime are the way of life, Soon Boy who received his stage name from close friends grew accustomed to the daily struggles of living in the ghetto. Similar to many others from his area, Soon Boy ended up behind bars. "Possession with intent, paraphernalia, and all kinds of shit" laughs off Soon Boy whom amazingly bears no ill will to Orlando's police department as he states, "I was actin' an ass and they were just doing their job." But, "doing jail time is a big set back. My album coulda been popped off by now," says Soon Boy.



Being released from jail on work release Soon Boy gratefully takes his second chance at life with stride. "My family kept me motivated to get through my jail time," Soon Boy proudly admits. In fact, his three children including an adopted son are also his motivation to make a legal transition into the workplace. "I'm trying to keep my kids from going down the same road I did. Not everybody can go down that path. I want them to go to a whole 'nother level!"



Joining up with Hard Lyfe Records through a mutual friend, the raspy, but gutter voice of Soon Boy Da Menace is ready to express his pain and struggles to the world through his music. "90% of the things I've done and 10% of the things I've seen," Soon Boy recently released his Jack It & Run Wit It mixtape featuring Young Slime. The mixtape is a small sample of what is to come and will open up the eyes to non-believers that tend to assume that nothing, but pleasure goes on in Orlando. The next step as Soon Boy expressively explains, "Is to be known worldwide." In a day and age of albums with radio friendly watered down music, this album that is described as one of the most true to heart albums the globe has seen.

It's a Hard Lyfe, but the hard work and dedication is rewarding.
