The current and now stable line-up of Son Of The Mourning has been in place since July "03 following their formative years sharpening their song writing skills, honing their challenging and invigorating heavy sound and making the bands initial entry onto the live circuit.

Now an established live act with strong pedigree, since the release of 2003's "Lambton Road" and prior to the recording of their latest 2004 effort "Forest Bank", SOTM undertook a heavy gigging schedule and have shared bills and stages with scene heavyweights such as Converge, Jairus, Beecher, Eden Maine, Number One Son, Narcosis, Aconite Thrill and Shaped By Fate (to name but a few) and the band's intense and emotional live show was critically acclaimed in large publications such as "Rocksound" magazine.

With the recently recorded "Forest Bank EP", the band have captured their most refined and impressive material to date. "Forest Bank" is recommended if you like bands like Hopesfall, Poison The Well, Skycamefalling, Boysetsfire and Converge. However, SOTM insist that they are not constrained by fashion and formulaic genre-clichés. "Forest bank" is a melting pot of the band's collective influences, and their release is set to raise the game for many to follow. Intense song writing, emotive-as-hell vocals and razor sharp percussion holds nothing back at the expense of its own sonic revolution. This music is as beautiful as it is crushing.

In November “08 personal circumstances made Scott have to reassess his levels of commitment and the decision was taken to move forward and find a new drummer. It was hard as Scott was like a brother, a genuine guy with such a big heart who loved metal and made every practice hilarious!

In December “08 “Son of The Mourning” changed its name to “Life Without Armour”

Life Without Armour are a culmination of metal styling, taking influence from Lamb of God, Darkest Hour, Pantera and numerous other bands although maintaining a unique sound. "It's something summed up with the name as Paul explains, a 'Life Without Armour' is to drop your guard and not choose what comes in and affects you. Yeah a few things might not be what you want but by opening to new experiences you get a more rounded outlook. We intend to use everything we've learnt in the past and eradicate the naivety that we once had. We were so worried about doing stuff wrong we didn't give it the chance. Now it's on. We're content with the music we have made and with our ability to express this live"

The bands are looking to take on touring duties throughout 2009 and have an upcoming release penned for February. Anyone wanting a free sample CD should contact the band via their MySpace
