SOMETHING TO BURN has been a very busy band lately.they've recently shared the stage with such bands as STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB, MERRIWETHER, LOADED and SMILE EMPTY SOUL. The band signed to Scott Weiland's label (Softdrive Records) and on Sept 15th, 2009 released their first record, TRANSITIONS.according to Artist Direct editor Rick Florino, "SOMETHING TO BURN is about to set the music world ablaze. The Los Angeles quartet has given birth to a veritable rock n' roll monster with their debut, TRANSITIONS.Massive catchy choruses cascade into crunchy riffs, as rhythms bend and break with classic bombast.TRANSITIONS is a sonic head-trip worth taking again and again."
Starting 2010 off with a bang, the band is featured in the Jan/Feb issue of REVOLVER Magazine as The Band To Watch, and they rocked in the new year with over 100,000 fans at Tempe Arizona's Fiesta Bowl Block Party. They've also played for sold out stadiums in Asia, and consistently fill the Hollywood clubs every time they play.
These guys cannot be stoppednot just because of the strength of their songs and live show, but because the passion of the fans they've made and continue to make everywhere they play. The songs that the guys write seem to strike a universal chord that grabs hold of people of all ages and genres & never lets go. The public has spoken and each time new music fans are exposed to this band, they all scream the same thing as the restGIVE ME SOMETHING TO BURN!
Stay tuned friends. The guys will be hitting the road with Stone Temple Pilots in Summer 2010, but other tour dates, videos, webisodes and all sorts of goodies will be posted soon so be sure to subscribe to their blog and check back daily! Big things are on the horizon for this band and they want you to be involved every step of the way.
Here's more of what the press has to say:
One of the best albums of the year…Something To Burn is just a rock band, albeit a very, very good one. There are definitely some heavier influences, but they take those and turn it all into their own sound. All of these influences are melded into expertly crafted songs, with the song as the main focus. The band has stated that they wanted to focus on creating a feel for the whole album, not just a collection of singles. This they have done very well, though it must be said, I believe each track can proudly stand on it’s own as a single release.
-Fazer Magazine
Something To Burn is a refreshing dose of something different. They bring the rock, but there is much more to it than that. There are unusual artistic elements and complexities within their music that appeal to both the brain and heart.
-CWG Magazine
The music of Something To Burn resurrects what we’ve been missing from our musical past, while forging boldly ahead into the future, and serves as the perfect soundtrack for the party that bridges the two.
-Tunelab
On the band’s debut effort, heavy rockers Something To Burn have managed to produce something new and interesting by simply sticking to what has been proven to work time and time again: Good, solid rock. It nixed screaming and gloomy vocals and opted for a much more unpolluted sound that will be sure to get the band noticed. Meshing elements of classic rock, punk, heavy rock and metal, Something To Burn have created a noteworthy debut.
