Bio:
The lead singer of the band, the Naj, immigrated to Canada as a child from his homeland of Lebanon. He quickly developed a passion for the music he was introduced to and in high school become good friends with Danarky and Skid Marc who shared his interest in loud fast music, and who years later would play guitar and bass in a band they would form together. After a few friends temporarily filled the role of drummer, the band was rounded out with the addition of Brent Over, who worked at the bar where Skid Marc was bartending. This addition proved to be the key to rounding out the sound of the band. This new line-up saw the band record and produce their first studio release, which they did independently.
Achievements:
Society's Ills has toured Eastern Canada twice, with performances in 15 cities in 17 days during each tour. A third such tour is currently being planned. They have played the KOI festival, headlined by Anti-Flag. They have opened for such acts as The Turbo AC's from New York, Dreadnoughts from BC and Koffin Kats from Detroit. After self-producing a couple demos, the band recorded their first studio album with Ron [Malajube, Yesterday's Ring], and this CD can be purchased on CD Baby or digitally on iTunes and Bandcamp. A video for the single 'State' was also recently produced.

Le chanteur de la formation, The Naj, a immigré au Canada dès son plus jeune âge. Il a rapidement développé une passion pour la musique punk. Pendant ses études de niveau secondaire, The Naj a établi un lien d'amitié avec le guitariste Danarky et le bassiste SkidMarc. Le punk rock devenait une partie très importante dans la vie des musiciens. Après quelques temps, SkidMarc a trouvé l'élément clé pour leur son puissant dans une brasserie de Montréal où il travaillait : Brent Over (percussionniste). Une fois la formation complète, ce fut l'élan pour une réalisation indépendante d'un tout premier disque en studio.
Réussites:
Society's Ills a fait deux tournées dans l'est canadien. Quinze villes ont été témoins de leurs prestations, soient 17 soirs. Une troisième tel tournée est en train d'être planifié. Ils ont également joué au festival KOI en première partie pour Anti-Flag. De plus, ils ont partagé la scène avec des groupes redoutables comme The Turbo AC's, de New York, Dreadnoughts de Colombie-Britannique et Les Koffin Kats de Detroit. Après la production de deux démos, le groupe a enregistré leur premier album studio avec Ron (Malajube, Yesterday's Ring). L'album est présentement en vente sur le site de CD Baby, ainsi que téléchargeable sur iTunes et Bandcamp. Un vidéo pour le chanson 'State' a récemment été produite.
