Biography:

Donzell Rodriguez musically known SNIPE, was born in the upper side of Manhattan, on July 29, 1987. He is the son of two Dominican parents who settled in the United States in the early eighties. Although he is an American, he is constantly surrounded by and expressing support to his ethnic extraordinarily rich musical culture. His passion for art started at the early age of three. He would draw everything he seen in various parts of the city. By the age of four his family decided to move from Washington heights to Harlem. While living in the heart of Harlem, Snipe observed scenes that would only in his later years make sense. By the age of six he finally settled in the South Side of the Bronx, where he discovered his passion for music.



The year was 1996, and his mother purchased him his first instrument, an electronic keyboard. Snipe would quickly play and memorize various tune played from the local radio station. When he was ten he entered KIPP Academy in the South Bronx, a school that would change his musical career to a whole new level. Snipe was taught all the concept of music, by the time he was a teenager he fluently played and read various music pieces and songs.



Snipe’s producing career began by the time he was around fourteen years old. A friend in high school introduced him to a “Hard to use computer program” called Fruity Loop. Snipe quickly took the challenge and within month mastered the software. The software later became one of the number 1 producing software in the world. Snipe, his friends, and cousins would often compose Hip hop, Pop, R & B, Techno, last but not least Reggaeton tracks.



By 2006, Snipe teamed up with his cousin Johnny (CRICRI MAN), and Gin (GIN TAMBORA) and created a new style of meringue. Together they produced songs like “El Cri Cri”. This new style would later be Snipe’s main concern. At the same time Reggaeton was heard in every part of New York City. The opportunity came when one of the most famous underground Reggaeton and R & B group asked snipe to a part of their career; their names were JINO AND ROYCE. Snipe accepted the challenge and together created music that would promote Life, Love, and Experiences. The music immediately captivated the audiences and inspired thousands. Opportunity such as events on radio stations (LA KALLE), famous TV. shows like (SABADO GIGANTE), and public performances came into place. A meeting with ex A&R of Atlantic records; Luis Ramos (D’mingo) gave the team incites of a problem that was occurring in the musical genre of reggaeton. Reggaeton was quickly running towards a down fall. Unfortunately the decline of “reggaeton” one of the worlds 1 urban Latin music since 2002 arrived. Many famous artists were making the cross over from reggaeton to urban Spanish pop, while the bachata industry was skyrocketing. In the midst of it all, Royce was offered the opportunity to work with 2 STRONG ENT, a bachata agency known for working with Xtreme and Aventura. The group eventually decided to work on their own separate project but created a “pact” in which the members would return for each other if success in their future musical career arrived.



On New Years day, of 2008 the name SNIPEPRODUCTIONS was born. What is Snipeproductions? Snipeproductions is one of the biggest promotional team in the Spanish industry, collaborating with LOMAXIMOPRODUCTIONS.COM the world’s top 1 Latin music website. Snipeproductions began with four members Donzell Rodriguez (SNIPE), Alejandro Rodriguez (ALE), Dennis Rodriguez (DEEZNUTZ), and Manuel Rodriguez (EL MATATAN). The group bored one day anxiously came up with ways to become superstars in the uprising commercial video website called YOUTUBE. They decided to create comedy videos that would attract thousands and at the same time promote the musical talent behind the company. The goal of the group was to attract Spanish speaking fans all around the world that would support the music as well as the video productions. The idea came from SONY BMG executive Jorge Fonseca who told Snipe that in order to make it in the music business you must be unique and establish a firm fan base. With idea of expressing the rich Dominican cultural and ethnic background, the group proceeded. The cousin’s began to work and produced their first video “Dominican blood diamond”. The video was a hit and currently holds 200,000 views. Other known productions consist of Dominican Scarface 200,000+views, El Loco Dominicano 200,000+views, Dominican Chucky, Dominican Titanic, Dominican 8 mile and much more. The voice-over comedies produced by Snipeproductions have sparked incredible progress in the internet world, given title to more than a million profile views in MYSPACE as well as YOUTUBE. It is a known fact Snipeproductions has revolutionized the market and increased the original sales of targeted movies all across, south, central, and North America (Mainly in Spanish speaking countries). The diverse comical aspect is always sparking the question; what is the name of the original movie? In the current year of 2009, Snipe has decided to push his musical career as an artist focusing mainly in the introduction of a new style of music which has been named MERENGON. The music is a unique mixture, which breaks the barriers of the rich but strict Merengue rhythm. As a young adult Snipe manages to continues his college studies, and hope to one day become an inspirational legendary artist taking his music to an international level. Never forgetting his past and calmly observing the unjust struggle of the lower class has given him the name SNIPE. So where did the name Snipe come from? The name Snipe came about from the term Sniper. A sniper or marksman is a highly trained marksman who observes targets from concealed positions or distances exceeding the capabilities of regular personnel. The spring semester of 2009 has changed Snipe’s life, and has taught him that every struggle faced by the lower income class is due to one thing. Through the knowledge acquired Snipe intends to produce music that doesn’t brag about the challenges face, but rather explains why things are the way they are in the poor urban community. With Snipeproductions under his belt and other collaborating website’s snipe plans on continue the movement. Snipe is ready to set changes by introducing a combination of new rhythms in his latest productions. Snipe’s goals are to set an example for the youth, and the other mature adults that are in the struggle trying to survive. Despite the obstacle and the hard work you must face in life if you chase your goals everything is possible. It takes mind, ambition and dedication and Snipe is ready to make it all happen.
