Rewind to 1980. Carter was president. Rubik’s Cubes were being twisted in millions of hands. And “Whip It” by Devo climaxed at 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

In this first year of the decade, Brad Lightfoot was a toddler. Thom McDonnell and Bradley Walther were babies. And brothers Dustin and Kevin Jordan, well, they were not due to arrive for a few years.

Fast forward to 2005. These five formed Smart Patrol and are paying musical tribute to the band best known for its biggest hit, “Whip It” (which, coincidentally, was debuted in 1979 at a New Year’s Eve concert at the Long Beach Arena).

The members of Smart Patrol have an uncontrollable urge to show the world that there’s more to Devo than just that one song.

Smart Patrol is the ultimate tribute to DEVO. Their uplifting and energetic performances have entertained thousands of devotees and spuds since 2005. Armed with one of the most authentic DEVO impersonations in the music business. This quintet has played at venues all over California, and has shared the stage with many legendary 80’s acts including Oingo Boingo tribute band “Dead Mans Party”.
