Slick Tra pronounced (Tray without the y) born Tracy Porter in Georgia has been performing and doing shows since 1991. He's an Artist, C.E.O and A&R Rep now days.
1991-1994: He starting recording and doing showcases with artist like, Outkast, PA, TLC, Kriss Kross, after recording his 1st studio tracks with steve rollin of tag team (whoop their it is) he began making a name for himself as the villain before changing to Slick tra in 1995. He performed on shows with Tupac, mack 10, criag mac, keith murray, Biggie, 8 Ball & MJg, Crime Boss, Mystikal, naught by nature, bone thugs, dj jimi, tons of acts even toured with JT $, Luke, H-Town, UNLV, Ghetto Mafia, 8Ball & MJG.
1995 - 2000 He work as a street promoter building his marketing company and promoting alot of the same artist he did shows with. Through the hook up he had it great back in the days. The hottest club in the A was Club XS, and then the Gate. both venues use to do shows every friday night and Slick Tra was the person who had to pick up the acts from the airport and take them to hang out and do things before the show and after the show so thats how he hooked up with so many acts. After that he began working for Power Records after Suave House took the deal with Relitively. At Power Records he learn to do Radio, Retail Tracking, Record Pool, Product Managing and the game of Touring. Back then he did work for 3.6.Mafia, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Playa Fly, DJ Squeeky, Tupac all eyes on me, Jr. Mafia, Freak Nasty "Da Dip", Ghetto Mafia, Gangsta Pat, C Murder and a long list of others. He also release a solo cd in 94-95 called Neighborhood Dopeman which he sold about 4,700 copies in Georgia alone. In 1997 he recorded his group effort Organized Thuggs which he recorded on his Big Boss Records Label and sold 16,000 copies before being picked up by RED Distribution /Road Runner/ Sony. With poor promotions the release slowed down and the group was droped, the cd which to date has sold 68,000 copies. from their he has mantain his street promotions company helping build companies like Big kat Reords, 40th St Records, Power/ Triad and others.
2001-2006 Slick Tra took some time off in 2001 and chilled / traveled with family after 12 years of being on the road. In 2002 /03 he helped Def Jam South promote Scarface "the fix", DTP cd, Ludacris's "Chicken & Beer" and then Chingy's "Jackpot". He recorded his Solo cd Tru Liez with Wenner Music a indie label he help start before leaving the company. He released Tru Liez Jan, of 2004 after touring and following the whole Jay Z / 50 Cent Rock Da Mic Tour in summer of 2003. Which He perform at verious Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, Busta, and Fabulus afterparties. He and Def Jam South teamed up to promote Chingy & Slick Tra releases on the tour. Tru liez went on to sale but became a great seller on the internet which he is pushing the 51,000 mark.
Now hes back with the new release that will be release national by Power Street Recordings title Still Str8. the album is Blazen and the buzz is spreading fast. Album features Tupac, MC Breed, and hot upcoming ATL acts, On Deck Click, G YAY, Get $ Boyz, and super producer Jig Myers. with banging jams like Stop Playing, Step Ya Game Up, and the happy hour banger Throw Ya Cups Up!
