Sight like december is a six-piece band from Duluth, MN/Superior, Wi area. It started in 2002 when two friends, Steve and John, decided they wanted to start a band. They found friends, and friends of friends, and started rehearsing regularly. After a year of polishing their music, they started booking shows and in May 2004 released their first cd, “simply let go”. This past January, Sight Like December recorded their second cd, "The Dying Experience" at Electrical Audio Studio with Steve Albini and will be releasing it May or June of 2008.

The music reflects all kinds of styles, and have been compared to Bright Eyes, Belle & Sebastian, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Decemberists, and vocals like Nick Drake. Influences range from Robert Johnson to Pink Floyd, and do not limit themselves to one genre, most classify it as indie rock. Sight like december incorporates guitar & vocals (Steve Johnson), bass (Andy Bergstrom), drums (John Lamar), sax (Robb Welty), violin (Becky Farmer) and rhodes piano (Rud Miller), with the occasional didgeridoo. Coupled with an abundance of innovation and creativity - you have a musical entity that seldom disappoints.

sight like december has played at Duluth's Homegrown Festival, Grandma's Sports Garden with Mason Jennings and a New Year Eve's Party for the Buddhist Meditation Center in Forest Lake, MN as well as numerous venues in the Twin Ports area.

sight like december has shared the stage with Mason Jennings, Black-Eyed Snakes, Cloud Cult, Trampled by Turtles, A Whisper in the Noise, Cardinal Sin, Plastic Constellations, No Room to Pogo, The Daredevil Christpher Wright, Portrait of a Drowned Man, The Gallows, No Wait Wait, Words to a Film Score, I.P.A., The Keepaways, and Crew Jones to name a few.
