SLAVECO.

Flashback, 10/00



Punkrock stalwarts SNFU and metal up and comers OCEAN3 risk travel along the icy tundra to rendezvous in, of all places, Golden BC. After a pre-gig supper of steak and stripshow, OCEAN3 supply metal tinged background din for the crowd's drinking adventures. SNFU hit the stage and manage to steal the crowd from their beers. Mr. Chi Pig does so by licking the strippers pole from bottom to top. Definitely a 'golden gross out' moment. After the show, sports talk and drinking games ensue, while OCEAN3 are talked into snorting crushed up ephedrine tablets. "It's my heart and I'll stop it if I want to!" is the chant of chants on this chilly night.



A few years later.



As both bands went through their 'hiatus' a chemistry held between members Jay Black, Matt Warhurst, Shane Smith and Mr. Chi Pig resulting in the formation of SLAVECO., continuing in the fine tradition of Canadian Alt/Rock stupremecy. The group quickly hit Vancouver venues full force with an original set which would end up confusing anyone that had expectations of sounding like their previous bands. Great crowd support for SLAVECO. fueled their Western Canadian "Toonage Riot Act Tour" in 2004 reaching many that hoped to see them live or hear them for the first time.



Shortly after getting back, SNFU reformed to play their final tour over one year, pausing SLAVECO. developments for awhile. Today, the members of SLAVECO. are currently working on other projects until the timing is right to bring SLAVECO. back to the table once again.
