Slaktattack (Slaughter Attack) was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in February 2002. Yxan (vocals) and Krea (guitar) had thought of the name years earlier, and at a friend’s 30th birthday party they finally got their act together. Then Svanne (guitar), Nippa (bass) and Plytet (drums) were drafted and the band began writing songs in the raw punk vein.
Initially Plytet played the bass and Nippa was the drummer. Banging out the D-beat rhythms came more naturally to Plytet however, and anyone who has seen Nippa wave a bass guitar around can clearly see how them switching instruments was best for the band.
2003 they released their first CD-R "Lagen Om Alltings Jvlighet" (something like Murphy’s Law). A year later the follow-up "Kontaminerad" (Contaminated) was made. These recordings enabled Slaktattack to play a few gigs around Sweden.
In November 2004 Svanne realized he couldn’t make it to a couple of shows since he was about to become a father. Domarn (guitar) was called in as a temporary replacement. He fit in well and agreed to become a permanent member in January 2005. Svanne never really left, so when he could sneak out of the house for gigs again, Slaktattack was a six-piece band.
In 2005 the new three-guitar line-up recorded 10 new songs. (That can be found on the promo-CD-R "Vanvettets Triumf") Six of which are released on the split-EP (Evigt Lidande Prod. 2006) with fellow Swedes Aktiv Ddshjlp.
Late 2006 the band recorded 5 new songs (4 own 1 cover of Doom’s "After The Bomb"). These tracks you can hear on the CD-R: "Promo 2007".
In 2007 the band had a couple of cool gigs playing at the same venues as Skitsystem, Kvoteringen and Mob 47. In early spring they recorded 5 new songs with fellow punks Ndslakt helping out with the backup vocals. Along with the 5 new songs they added 2 songs from early 2004 recordings (songs they still like and play live), 2 from their 7"-EP (released 2006) and the Doom cover again: "nnu En Bomb". These songs have been put together on a CD-R called "D-taktsvingar" (D-beat Wings) which represents the band’s sound in 2008.
During 2009 a few more records have been released. A split 7 inch with the Mexican band Bio Crisis and a split CD with Antiprtokol from Malaysia. Also, they are participating on the "Skitliv!" compilation CD, which contains tunes with all the bands that were interviewed in Skitliv! fanzine issue 1 to 10.
In spring 2010 they recorded more new tunes that together with their 2009 recording is enough material for an CD/LP.
The band has up to this date played about 40 gigs in Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic and Germany and are always looking forward to play live. Just get in touch.
Slaktattack is made up of some blokes joined by their love of raw D-beat crust punk. They have no ulterior motive. All they want to do is play harsh, simple and fast. If there is a message, it's only: Think for yourself!
